Cinnabon Cupcake Recipe

Here is a great recipe for cinnamon bun cupcakes. They taste even sweeter than cinnamon buns—just like little drops of heaven. They are so easy to make, you’ll wonder why you never thought of this recipe yourself. These are perfect for any event, club meeting, or for treating yourself!

Ingredients:

  • Boxed White Cake Mix (you’ll also need Oil, Eggs, and Water)
    • Homemade White Cake Recipe (makes 12 normal sized cupcakes):
      • 1 cup white sugar
      • 1 1/2 cups flour
      • 1/2 cup butter
      • 1 3/4 tsp baking powder or baking soda
      • 1/2 cup milk
      • 2 eggs
      • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon Powder
  • Vanilla Frosting
  • Sugar (Optional)

Directions:

  • preheat your oven to 350°F
  • make cake mix as directed or mix all ingredients into a batter
  • fill your cupcake trays
  • leave your cupcakes in the oven until they’re golden brown on the edges
  • take them out and let them cool off for 15 minutes
  • OPTIONAL: To get the true icing texture, you can mix your frosting with sugar (it should not be smooth)
  • take the frosting and slather it on generously, you can even cut holes in the top of your cupcakes and fill them with frosting (I suggest mixing the frosting fill with cinnamon)
  • sprinkle cinnamon on the top
