Everyday Makeup Look Using Affordable Products

The makeup you wear every day has to be subtle. It can’t damage your face and it can’t take very long to apply. Unless you’re an absolute pro, you probably can’t afford to do full face makeup when you’re running late to work. Here are the products I use when I’m in a rush and don’t want to look as though I’ve just rolled out of bed. This post is also a tutorial, so the products are in order of which I recommend using first.

1. Eyebrows

Brow Pencil, Brush, and/or Gel. I use the ColourPop Bro Pencil. It’s just $5. I absolutely love Coloupop and I definitely recommend this product. It is a subtle and very gentle pencil to fill in your brows. It also has an eyebrow brush on the other end of it. Buy it here for just $5. You can also use a small amount of brow gel if you’re worried about your eyebrows staying in place.  Continue reading “Everyday Makeup Look Using Affordable Products”

My Favorite Childhood Memory

item_5.renderimage.imagepath.550.309Has anyone ever asked you where your “happy place” is? That question is usually used as a strategy tailored to finding inner peace, so you can focus and do your best work. Here is a new trick that will boost your mood: think of one of your favorite childhood memories. It could be the smell of fresh grass, the morning route you took to deliver newspapers, walking into your favorite candy store, or playing with your favorite toy. Just think of it, and go there. Immerse yourself and feel at peace. If you loved watching the sunrise with your parents: FaceTime them at 5am and watch it on your porch. If you loved the smell of Grandma’s brownies: get the recipe and bake them. Continue reading “My Favorite Childhood Memory”

How to grow your hair FAST for under $15

Hair Masks are helpful in making your hair grow, look healthy, and to stop your hair from getting frizzy. We all have different needs when it comes to keeping our hair looking its best. Here are 7 all-natural hair masks.

To make these hair masks, you will need to mix all of the ingredients into a paste and massage the mixture into your scalp (I suggest starting from the top and working your way down). Keep in mind that for curly hair the results will take longer to see because curly hair grows slower. Before applying any mask, brush tangles out of your hair to yield the best results. After massaging the mask into your hair, cover your hair with a shower cap and let the mask set for at least 30 minutes. Finally, wash your hair with whatever products you usually use. Use masks once to twice a week for the best results. Continue reading “How to grow your hair FAST for under $15”

5 things I wish I knew // Writing Prompt: Entry 4

Whether it’s in your head or on paper, everybody has a bucket list of things they want to do or accomplish. But what about a list of things you want to know; a list of questions that you hope scientists and researchers will have the answer to by the time you die? This writing prompt forced me to evaluate those things. Here are the 5 things I want to know/learn:

tumblr_ly6bilyn5q1qzzif8o1_5001. I want to know how it feels to be in love.
Now let me clarify, I want to know how it feels to be in love with someone who loves me back—I’ve already experienced  unrequited love. I hope that I will one day be able to find a person I can call my soul mate. I don’t know if I believe in fate, but I believe that if you work hard enough you can create your destiny. A Conversation with My Dad

Yesterday was my Dad’s Birthday, so I decided to dedicate this post to him. Him and I don’t always see eye-to-eye but I know he cares about me and that’s all that really matters.

My father has been saying that he is so bored with this life lately. He has “nothing to look forward to”. I told him that his kids are supposed to make him feel young. When you have kids you’re supposed to look forward to the new changes and milestones in their lives. He disagrees. He opened up to me and said he can’t feel young unless the changes I make revolve around his opinions. This means that he won’t be happy unless I do what he says. OPI Puerto Vallarta Violeta | First Impression + Review

It’s Summer. It’s warm, you’re in a good mood, and you have some free time on your hands, so it feels natural to want to paint your nails. Although you might love feeling like a risk-taker when you put on your neon orange nail paint, you soon come to realize that it doesn’t match with any of your clothes. In an attempt to stay away from basic whites, blacks, and nudes, I vowed to find myself a color that was summery, beautiful, and matched with many of my outfits. I found that wonderful shade when I put on the OPI Puerto Vallarta Violeta.

A Beautiful Bracelet with a Cause

Happy One Month of Blogging to Me! Yesterday was August 10th, which means that one month ago I sat on my laptop and began writing my first blog post. Since then I’ve changed this blog an incredible amount and I’ve learned so much. I want to thank all of my amazing followers for helping me to fall in love with blogging each and every day.

I’ve heard of so many ways people are fundraising for different causes: from t-shirts,ribbons, and advertised websites to school fundraisers and spirit weeks, there are so many creative ways to support a cause you’re passionate about. Why not show your support in style? While on a retreat, I noticed a booth of beautiful, beaded bracelets. br1

Tricks to Getting a Whiter Smile

Screen Shot 2016-08-01 at 11.14.57 AMHere are some Tips & Tricks for beautiful, white teeth in just 2 minutes. I’ve tried quite a few of these recipes and they work incredibly quickly. After brushing your teeth just once you will notice a difference in the color of your teeth. By using these mixes regularly, your teeth will stay healthy and you’ll never have to worry about having yellow teeth again! You can add these ingredients to your normal toothpaste if you are worried about the taste of the mixtures.

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide + Baking Soda is a well-known mixture for teeth whitening—but there is another great ingredient to add: Lemon Juice! The natural exfoliant adds a powerful reactant to the solution and creates a fizz that is sure to leave your teeth dazzling.

I suggest only making as much as you’ll need for about a week because this solution becomes less effective with each passing day.

Movie Review: Nerve

Screen Shot 2016-08-02 at 10.41.43 PMI saw this movie the day after its release date: on July 28th,2016. In short: it was an awesome film. After seeing the trailers, I expected a lot more romance. But this is no love story. Luckily, there is so much action and drama within the film. Everything surrounding Vee (played by Emma Roberts) seems to be falling apart all at different times—so there is never a dull moment. If you have never seen a trailer, Nerve is a game where people sign up to play and make money from dares, or to watch the players and pay a fee. The intent of the game is to get the most watchers (comparable to instagram followers) and to lose you either fail to complete a dare or you refuse to do it. Continue reading “Movie Review: Nerve”

My Most Noteworthy Accomplishments // Writing Prompt: Entry 3

Screen Shot 2016-07-31 at 9.44.05 PMThis prompt was titled “Most Prized Moments”. I don’t think this post will be very long considering the fact that I’m a teenager. I know that the intention of this prompt was most likely to list tangible awards and certificates, but there are many other important things a person can achieve in their life without necessarily getting a medal for it, and that is what I would like to demonstrate in this post. After reading this I hope you will be able to understand where my priorities lie. This list is in no particular order of importance.

The greatest accomplishments of my short life have been:

  • Becoming the President of my Class. Yes, I actually did that. And yes, it felt awesome.
  • Actually joining a sports team. I’m a runner now and I feel as if I can conquer anything. My shortness of breath holds me back from climbing Everest, but I won’t let it keep me from going on a nice, long jog.
  • Being selected for a spot in a poetry book (getting published). The book I was entered in comes out in December! Continue reading “My Most Noteworthy Accomplishments // Writing Prompt: Entry 3”
