The Sheaffer VFM: My First Fountain Pen, An In-Depth Review

I got a set of Sheaffer Calligraphy Pens and Inks for my Birthday and that set ended up being my enabler. Ever since I received that set just over a month ago, I have been exploring the Fountain Pen realm. It only made sense that my first fountain pen was the same brand as my Calligraphy Set, and that’s how I ended up buying the Sheaffer VFM, in the Fine Size, in Neon Blue from Amazon.

What I’m Thankful For: 2016

I’m probably a little late on the bandwagon, but I’d like to post about what I’m especially grateful for this year.

1. My Parents

Can I write a whole page about them?? Every time I’m down or I’m sick or I’m the littlest bit antsy, they’re right there to catch me. They are the reason I’ve been able to feel so secure in myself and I love them to death. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to prosper in anything I do. They have given me so many wonderful opportunities and have allowed me to be someone I can be proud of. Best. Parents. Ever. Continue reading “What I’m Thankful For: 2016”

Life isn’t Consistent

As I write to you from the belly of the beast, I’d like to apologize to those of you who have enjoyed the consistency with which I’d written on this site in the past. As some of you may have noticed, this site has moved from whenever inspiration strikes to Bella XO.

I will not delete my old posts because that would be like deleting my past, and we all know that we can’t change the past.

Would My Life Make a Good Reality TV Show?

imgres.jpgOn the radio this morning, I heard the anchor ask this question in reference to a family who started their own reality show after becoming obsessed with Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I find this to be an intriguing prompt due to the fact that it’s a question I have asked myself my whole life. When I was little I used to narrate my life and try to make it seem as though every moment was was worth watching. To this day I wonder if my life is something people would enjoy captured on the big screen. Continue reading “Would My Life Make a Good Reality TV Show?”

Fall/Winter Lipstick Collection + Swatches

The leaves are starting to change color and the air is getting a little cooler. With sweater weather just around the corner, we need to remember to keep our lips hydrated. Fall and Winter lipstick shades come in a large variety of types and colors, and today I’ll be sharing my favorites.

1. Reds

Reds are an absolute essential for any season. During the Fall and Winter, darker, more captivating reds come into play.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color | Review + Swatches

Recently I picked up this lipstick and I’m very excited to try it. Revlon is a high-end drugstore brand. This means that their products are usually between $6 and $15. I have used Revlon in the past and I think it is a lovely brand with beautiful lipsticks, nail polishes, and foundations. I was looking for a new nude lipstick and this one compelled me.

My Favorite Childhood Memory

item_5.renderimage.imagepath.550.309Has anyone ever asked you where your “happy place” is? That question is usually used as a strategy tailored to finding inner peace, so you can focus and do your best work. Here is a new trick that will boost your mood: think of one of your favorite childhood memories. It could be the smell of fresh grass, the morning route you took to deliver newspapers, walking into your favorite candy store, or playing with your favorite toy. Just think of it, and go there. Immerse yourself and feel at peace. If you loved watching the sunrise with your parents: FaceTime them at 5am and watch it on your porch. If you loved the smell of Grandma’s brownies: get the recipe and bake them. Continue reading “My Favorite Childhood Memory”

5 things I wish I knew // Writing Prompt: Entry 4

Whether it’s in your head or on paper, everybody has a bucket list of things they want to do or accomplish. But what about a list of things you want to know; a list of questions that you hope scientists and researchers will have the answer to by the time you die? This writing prompt forced me to evaluate those things. Here are the 5 things I want to know/learn:

tumblr_ly6bilyn5q1qzzif8o1_5001. I want to know how it feels to be in love.
Now let me clarify, I want to know how it feels to be in love with someone who loves me back—I’ve already experienced  unrequited love. I hope that I will one day be able to find a person I can call my soul mate. I don’t know if I believe in fate, but I believe that if you work hard enough you can create your destiny. A Conversation with My Dad

Yesterday was my Dad’s Birthday, so I decided to dedicate this post to him. Him and I don’t always see eye-to-eye but I know he cares about me and that’s all that really matters.

My father has been saying that he is so bored with this life lately. He has “nothing to look forward to”. I told him that his kids are supposed to make him feel young. When you have kids you’re supposed to look forward to the new changes and milestones in their lives. He disagrees. He opened up to me and said he can’t feel young unless the changes I make revolve around his opinions. This means that he won’t be happy unless I do what he says.
