Makeup Review: Colurpop’s Lippie Stix + Swatches

Six months ago I read about Colourpop in an article from BuzzFeed and I knew I wanted to try these extraordinary lip products. Colourpop is a glamorous new makeup line based in LA and made in the USA. I got 3 matte lippie stix and 1 satin. The lipsticks are $5 each, which is pretty spectacular. All of these smell like vanilla which is another perk.

I love the matte RAYEzor. It’s the perfect natural-looking medium nude with a hint of pink, which gives the right amount of color for an everyday look. This lipstick always goes on smooth without a lip liner, which makes it ideal for a girl on the go. On days when you don’t want to look like you’re wearing makeup but also want that impeccable “I woke up flawless” look, go for the RAYEzor lippie. I give this 5 stars for the quality and perfectly advertised description of this product.
Satin Frida was a bit more tinted than I expected but I still like the color. It makes me look professional, while also emphasizing my cheerful personality. I got the matching lip liner and it is a little darker than the lippie but I don’t mind it. Also the lip liner is matte which I love. I give this 4 stars because it does not last very long.
The matte JuJuRouge is such a beautiful dark red with a hint of pink. I always get compliments when I wear it— it makes me feel so fierce. The downside is that it is so hard to put on. Even with a lip liner it looks uneven. I feel like it’s always smudging. It also doesn’t feel very matte. I don’t recommend wearing this if you’re going to an event that has food. But if you’re going for a fun night on the town with your girls, this is a must-have. I give this 4 stars because of the fact that it is barely matte and it is so hard to apply.
I haven’t had the confidence to wear the Bull Chic yet but I’ve tested it on my lips and it is a foolproof matte black. I have dark eyes and dark hair so I just need to get some neon eyeshadow to contrast the black lipstick and I will start wearing it. This lipstick was made to be worn in the dark so I will try wearing some sparkles and neon colors with this. You could rock at ’80s night in this lipstick. I give this 5 stars because it is a matte black, and you can’t argue with a color that bold.
