Fall/Winter Lipstick Collection + Swatches

The leaves are starting to change color and the air is getting a little cooler. With sweater weather just around the corner, we need to remember to keep our lips hydrated. Fall and Winter lipstick shades come in a large variety of types and colors, and today I’ll be sharing my favorites.

1. Reds

Reds are an absolute essential for any season. During the Fall and Winter, darker, more captivating reds come into play.

Autumn Great Wear Lip by Maybelline (Top) This color is smooth to apply and takes a few coats to really bring out the color. The result is a red that is just darker than true red.

Parallel Red All-Day Lipstick from Estee Lauder (Middle) This is a simple bold red, just because you can wear it during any season.

JujuRouge Lippie Stix from Colourpop (Bottom) This color is a fierce mix of pink, red and purple. See my full review of this shade in: Makeup Review: Colurpop’s Lippie Stix + Swatches.

2. Glossy Purples

Sometimes you don’t want the pressure of a full dark lip. On the off days, a darker gloss comes in handy.

Sassy Mauve Outlast Lipstain by CoverGirl (Top) This is a liquid lip stain. When I say liquid, I actually mean that it will feel like you are putting water on your lips. I don’t recommend that you get this particular lip stain because the color comes off easily. I suggest that you buy a good quality lip stain because they come in handy on days when you don’t have time to reapply lipstick.

Berry Allure Super Lustrous Lipgloss by Revlon (Middle) This lovely lipgloss is a light magenta. The color is very sheer and doesn’t feel too sticky.

Voluptuous Violet Chubby Stick by Clinique (Bottom) This lip gloss is soothing to the touch. It is smooth during application. After a few coats, the color will start to appear.

3. Dark Purples

To take anyone’s breath away, pull off a dark purple lip. Most people don’t realize how much power they can gain by simply being confident in this ferocious color.

Grandest Grape Chubby Stick Intense by Clinique (Top) Sad to inform my readers that this bold, bright purple will only look good on specific skin tones. A light coat will go a long way on anyone, but I suggest buying a different shade of this lipstick because it is just as good as the sheer chubby stick and has much better pigment.

Black Cherry Super Lustrous Lipstick by Revlon (Bottom) This lipstick, on the other hand, looks good on anyone willing to try a dark shade. It is a beautiful purple that I recommend to anyone who has never given dark purple its fair chance.

    1. Honestly, I’m always on the hunt for deals 😉 Most of these lipsticks are from drugstore bands and are under $10 each. But thank you so much!

      1. Colourpop has some really beautiful colors, but not all of their products are created equal. The lipstick will dry out your lips a little bit if you don’t have time to reapply. If you don’t mind that too much, the shades are worth every penny. I suggest using a lip exfoliator. I have posted a DIY lip scrub and a Coloupop Lipstick review in case you want more details.

      2. awesome, thank you so much for the advice! I’ll look at your review for Colorpop lipstick to see what your thoughts on it are and I’ll definitely be looking at your DIY lip scrub as that something I could definitely do with as I use a lot of matte lipsticks! Thank you 🙂

  1. You have a great collection!!!! I love the ColourPop Lippie Stix. I literally want like every shade they have. Even the mattes aren’t drying! These colors are gorgeous! I’ve recently stepped into the world of lippies and I love it!!!!

  2. Dark and vampy lipsticks are my beauty staple! I’m especially a fanatic of a good bargain, so the majority of my lipstick collection is drugstore as well. My favorite drugstore brands for lipsticks have to go to Milani and NYX.
